I just got unsolicited email about an IQ test from emode.com, with the subject
"Are you smarter than George W. Bush?"

Like I really need to click through on that link.

It's been a cold, wet, windy, rainy day and we haven't gone out all day. The
power went out this morning while I was in the middle of reading Heartburn.

The aroma of coffee still lingers from the box I packed yesterday. Considering
I put the coffee in a zip-lock bag before packing it away, it's surprising I can
still smell it. Maybe it's an olfactory hallucination.

I was IM'ing with chelle earlier and she said that her email hasn't worked all
day. Not surprising as it's provided by a friend of hers in the North Bay, which
got the worst of the storm today. Their power is probably still out. I hope the
weather gets better soon. I don't want to stay home all day again tomorrow.

But Selected Shorts is on KQED, and that's always good to listen to, so it's not so
bad. I'll go back to reading later.

eBay scam alert

I can't believe people are doing this. And if people are actually falling for it...
well, that's really sad.

I've done a lot of thinking, and come to the conclusion that it may be time to spring
for Photoshop Elements 2.0. I don't need the high-end photo touch-up/processing
features, but I do need a way to edit/crop/correct things on the photos I'm scanning in.

And hey, the rebates just clinched the deal.

There's a restaurant in the Sunset District of San Francisco that serves the most
amazing garlic noodles. Last night I think I came fairly close to re-creating the
sauce that goes with the noodles. I'm extremely proud of myself for that. It wasn't
exactly the same, but for what started out as a trial-and-error process it came
quite close. And maybe the next time I do this I'll actually write down what I put
in there so it's reproduceable.
