Depletion. It's all around me. The refrigerator and cupboards look downright
empty compared to the way they were, say, six months ago. We donated a lot of
the cans left over from Y2K to the local food bank, and are trying to figure out
what to make with the rest.
Wow, it's been a week since the last entry. (Time flies when you're moving boxes
around. :-) ) I've been going through boxes, sending stuff I have no room for to
people who might want it. Tropical depression Fay brought a lot of rain into the
area over the weekend, so I wasn't able to work in the garage for most of Saturday
and Sunday. I'm glad I was thinking ahead Friday afternoon, though --
managed to bring about six boxes into the house before the wet stuff came
pouring down. I've gone through five so far. Found the fountain pens I brought
from California, as well as some more story notes and ideas. C. suggested
I set aside a box for those, so they're easier to find when we arrive at the new place.
I've already done that :-)
We also finally have a Bay Area phone number! It'll be active as of this evening
Pacific time, so I can finally do those online job applications that screen
based on your phone number.
